Key Action 1 Project: Youth Mobility

About the project

The project: «Εσρω-μεσογειακό Δίκτσο Νέων της Κοινωνίας των Πολιτών» «EuroMed Network of Civil Society Youth (EuroMed NCSY)» is a transnational initiative for young people. We propose that the participants come from 12 different countries from organizations already collaborating among each other, which share common values and believes and practices on major preoccupations of the European-Mediterranean civil society. We propose that 6 members from each organization, 72 young people in total, aged 18-30, including their group leaders (no age limit) will join our organization in this project of major significance which EKO wishes to organize and implement in Athens, Greece.

The aim of the project is to increase the consciousness of young people as active citizens in European and other Southern Mediterranean countries, to establish a long life collaboration in the context of a viable organization Network which will share initiatives, interventions, training and continuous networking on major issues of democratic enhancement, fighting against violence and xenophobia, confronting major economic and social crisis issues, promoting human rights especially in the context of the refugee mobility, reinforcing the role of youth in decision making centers. These will constitute major issues to be examined and form the core of action of the proposed Network. The short term objective is that by the end of the project the participants will have develop an elaborated set of statutes to be agreed and signed by each organization’s representative in order to establish a viable and recognizable network. That is why the organization’s representatives are invited to participate in the project. The mid and long term objective is the consolidation and expansion of the EuroMed Network, so that its voice is heard to the maximum.

The project will bring together young people with ties to their local communities and with a proven high sense of social responsibility, since they already belong to a viable Euro-Med network of youth. The expected outcome is the maximization of the project effects when the participants return to their countries.
